Around this time each year, we see a surge in new hosts and we’re now approaching 40,000 active receivers across the world! If you’re new to the community, welcome to the network! Help us continue to expand our community by spreading the word about flight tracking and how anyone can contribute. Here are the highlights this month:
|
jimenoma is our featured host this month and comes to us from Guadalix de la Sierra, Madrid. He joined the network 2 years ago as a PiAware host and shared photos of his “rustic” installation that tracks over 1,000 aircraft per day.
He has several antennas installed on different Quercus. One is used for NOAA satellites, another for general use, and the other for ADS-B reception.
The SDR is set up near the antenna inside a PVC tube and is connected to a Raspberry Pi in the wooden shed below it using a five meter USB cable.
Thank you for being a long-time host with FlightAware!
